The Burnaby Steelers are proud to announce the hiring of Craig Carter as the organization’s new General Manager.

Carter brings a strong background in junior hockey operations, scouting, and player recruitment, with experience at both the BCHL and NHL levels. Most recently, he served as Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel with the Prince George Spruce Kings, where he played a key role in player evaluation and recruitment.

Prior to his time in Prince George, Carter held scouting and hockey operations roles with the Minnesota Wild, Salmon Arm Silverbacks, and Coquitlam Express, building a reputation as one of the game’s respected talent evaluators and recruiters.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Craig to the Burnaby Steelers organization,” said co-owner Aldo Bruno. “He has been on our radar for a long time and his experience, leadership, and passion for player development make him the ideal person to help lead our program into the future.”

Carter says the opportunity to join the Steelers is one he is grateful for and eager to begin.

“I’m extremely honoured to be named General Manager of the Burnaby Steelers Junior A hockey club. I want to sincerely thank the ownership group for their trust and belief in me to help lead this organization forward. Their commitment to building a first-class program and supporting player development made this an opportunity I’m incredibly proud to accept.

I’m excited to work alongside our coaches, players, staff, and community to build a culture centered on hard work, accountability, and pride in wearing the Steelers jersey. Our goal will be to create an environment where players can develop both on and off the ice while competing at the highest level every night. I can’t wait to get started and help bring continued success to the Steelers organization.”

The Burnaby Steelers continue preparations for the upcoming season as the organization looks ahead to a new era under Carter’s leadership.
