The Burnaby Steelers have acquired 2006-born forward Cole Balkovec from the Bonnyville Pontiacs of the AJHL in exchange for future considerations.
Listed at 6’2″ and 205 lbs., he spent the past season in the BCHL with the Coquitlam Express. Balkovec is a right-shot product of Cloverdale, BC, who will be a valuable addition to the team’s offence.
“Cole is a big, power-forward who brings character and leadership both on and off the ice. He’s the type of player who makes the people around him better, and we believe his experience, compete level, and leadership will be a great addition to our group. We’re thrilled to welcome Cole to Burnaby and look forward to seeing what he can accomplish in a Steelers jersey,” said Steelers General Manager Craig Carter.
The Steelers open the 2026-2027 season in Langley this Saturday and play their home opener the following day.
