The Burnaby Steelers are proud to announce the hiring of Cavin Tilsley as an Assistant Coach with the organization.

Tilsley was born and raised in South Delta, BC, and spent four years playing junior hockey in the BCHL with the Prince George Spruce Kings and West Kelowna Warriors. A former captain of the Warriors, he has also spent over 10 years as a coach.

His coaching resume includes serving as a head coach, player skill development coach, video coach, and scout across leagues like the CSSHL, HPL, and BCHL. Tilsley is also Power Edge Pro Certified.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of a great coaching staff, ownership, and storied franchise. It’s always exciting being a part of a new league who’s hungry to make an impact, and it will be fun getting to coach with one of my former teammates Kyle Johnson,” said Tilsley.

“We’re very excited to welcome Cavin to the Burnaby Steelers as an Assistant Coach. Cavin brings a strong hockey background, a great understanding of the game, and a real passion for helping young players develop. His energy, communication skills, and commitment to building a winning culture will be a great addition to our coaching staff,” said Steelers General Manager Craig Carter.

“We believe Cavin will have a very positive impact on our players both on and off the ice, and we’re looking forward to having him behind the bench this season,” he added.

Tilsley joins the Steelers at an exciting time as the organization continues to strengthen its culture centered around hard work, accountability, and development.

The Steelers organization would like to officially welcome Cavin and his family to Burnaby.
