The Burnaby Steelers have acquired forward Jude Donnelly (F, 08’) and future considerations from the Chilliwack Jets in exchange for Alexander Jacques (F, 07’) – Jacques was acquired in the trade last season involving forward Ryan McAuley.
Donnelly (Langley, BC) is set to enter his third season of junior hockey having previously played for the Delta Ice Hawks and Chilliwack Jets. Listed at 6’3” and 200 lbs., he has a goal and three assists for four points in 46 regular season games. The right-shot forward has also laced up in five playoff games with the Jets in 2025-2026.
“We’re excited to welcome Jude to the organization. Jude is a big, hard-working power-forward who plays the game the right way. He combines a strong physical presence with excellent skating ability, allowing him to be effective in all three zones,” said Steelers General Manager Craig Carter.
“His skill set, hockey sense, and ability to make plays with the puck complement his willingness to compete in the hard areas of the ice. Just as importantly, his character, work ethic, and team-first mentality make him an outstanding fit for our locker room and the culture we’re building,” he added.
“We believe Jude has all the tools to make an immediate impact and continue developing into a key contributor for our hockey club. We’re excited to see him in a Steelers jersey this season,” he concluded.
The Steelers open the 2026-2027 season in Langley on Saturday, September 19. The team plays their home opener on Sunday, September 20.
