The Burnaby Steelers are pleased to announce the hiring of Alessio Cusano as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster.
The native of North Vancouver, BC, spent the past two seasons with the Wolf Pack as a writer and camera operator.
A recent graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast and Online Journalism program, he spent time interning with Sportsnet 650 and the BCHL.
“I have known Alessio for a few years now and know he will be a great fit for the team. His passion and dedication to the game of hockey and the desire to always get better will take him very far,” said Director of Marketing and Media Giancarlo Nadeau.
Cusano, who has aspired to work in sports since a young age, said, “It’s amazing to be joining the Steelers broadcasting team. I’m looking forward to a great season.”
The Steelers start the 2025-26 campaign in Ridge Meadows before their home opener on Sunday against Delta. Tickets are available at the gate and online. All Steelers’ games are broadcast live on FloHockey.
