Welcome back to the Burnaby Winter Club where the Burnaby Steelers (0-1) are set to host the Richmond Sockeyes (0-1) to close out the first weekend of pre-season games in the PJHL. Here is tonight’s game preview.

The Richmond Sockeyes made it to the second round of last year’s playoffs, where the Delta Ice Hawks took them out in five games. Richmond beat White Rock four games to two en route to round two.

GERAGHTY – The PJHL Goaltender of the Year for last season is committed to the University of Victoria for the upcoming season. Geraghty spent his entire PJHL career with the Steelers, starting 96 games and registering 8 shutouts.

 

HOW IT ENDED

The last time the Steelers played a hockey game, they were called the Grandview Steelers. The team went on a four-game win streak, including a 5-4 win in Chilliwack to close out the season, but failed to qualify for the post-season, missing the playoffs by one point.
