The Burnaby Steelers Junior Hockey Club is currently accepting applications for the position of General Manager.
The Burnaby Steelers are committed to excellence in player development, competitive success, and strong community engagement. The General Manager will play a critical leadership role in overseeing all aspects of hockey operations and advancing the long-term vision of the organization.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall direction and administration of hockey operations, including roster management, recruitment, staff oversight, league relations, and organizational planning.
Key Responsibilities

Lead player recruitment, evaluation, and roster construction

Oversee and support coaching staff

Ensure compliance with league policies and regulations

Manage team operations in coordination with ownership and executive leadership

Develop and maintain relationships with players, families, scouts, and league officials

Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and development
Qualifications
-
Previous experience in junior hockey operations (General Manager, Assistant GM, coaching, scouting, or similar role)

Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills

Strong knowledge of the junior hockey landscape in British Columbia

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Commitment to athlete development and organizational integrity
