New Westminster, BC – The Burnaby Steelers announced today that the club will host the Ridge Meadows Flames in Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) regular-season action on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster.
The game marks a first for the Steelers, as the organization brings PJHL competition to New Westminster for the first time. The event provides an opportunity to introduce the team to a new market while strengthening ties across the Lower Mainland hockey community.
“We are proud to come to the City of New Westminster to host this game,” said Steelers Governor Aldo Bruno. “Our organization is committed to growing the game and engaging with new fans, and we look forward to a competitive matchup against a strong Flames team.”
Jamie Rennie, Manager of Queen’s Park Arena, shares, “The historic Queen’s Park Arena has a rich Junior Hockey past, and we are excited to continue this legacy and welcome the Steelers and Flames to this iconic venue.”
The Flames are led by former New Westminster Bruin Brent Hughes, and the Steelers will induct former New West product and NHL veteran Kyle Turris into their Wall of Honour.
More information is set to be released in the coming weeks, but tickets are now available through the Steelers’ official website and at the gate on game day. For more details, visit burnabysteelers.ca or follow the Burnaby Steelers on social media.
