The Burnaby Steelers are pleased to announce the hiring of Drazen Bezic as an assistant coach.
Bezic played for the Richmond Sockeyes for three years beginning in the 1990-91 season.
He won the Cyclone Taylor Cup in his second season with the team and was named their top scorer and league MVP in the 1992-93 season.
His coaching career includes stops with the Delta Ice Hawks (2007-09) and Port Moody Panthers (2009-10) and twelve years with Burnaby Minor Hockey from 2013-25.
“We are excited to have Drazen join us in Burnaby this year. He has experience in our league both as a player and a coach and will bring some fresh ideas to our bench,” said co-owner Aldo Bruno.
Bezic, who is back in the PJHL for the first time in 15 years, said, “I’m thankful to Aldo and the Steelers organization for the opportunity to coach in the PJHL again. I’m honoured and looking forward to giving back to the game and the community that I grew up in.”
The Steelers start the 2025-26 campaign in Ridge Meadows before their home opener on Sunday against Delta. Tickets are available at the gate and online.
