The Burnaby Steelers are pleased to announce the signing of 2008-born defender Luke Blanchard.
Blanchard (West Vancouver, BC) posted six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 27 games in the BCEHL with the U18 Vancouver NW Hawks. He spent the three previous seasons playing for the North Shore Warriors U17 and U18 teams in the CSSHL.
“Luke is a dynamic skating defenceman who plays with tremendous vision and hockey sense. His ability to read the game, move pucks efficiently and create offence from the back end will be a great addition to our group,” said Steelers General Manager Craig Carter.
“We believe Luke has all the tools to make an immediate impact for us, and we’re excited to see him continue to develop in a Steelers uniform,” he added.
The Burnaby Steelers would like to extend a warm welcome to Luke and the Blanchard family.
The Steelers open the 2026-2027 season in Langley on Saturday, September 19. The team plays their home opener on Sunday, September 20.
