The Burnaby Steelers have acquired forward Mateo Prexler (F, 07’) from the Mission City Outlaws in exchange for a player development fee.
Prexler (Coquitlam, BC) returns to the Burnaby Winter Club after playing two seasons of junior hockey with the Ridge Meadows Flames and Mission City Outlaws. He spent two years at the BWC playing for their U16 and U17 teams.
Listed at 6’2” and 165 lbs., he has three goals and two assists for five points in 43 PJHL contests.
“We’re excited to welcome Mateo Prexler to the Burnaby Steelers organization,” said Steelers General Manager Craig Carter.
“He is a skilled 2007-born power forward who competes at a very high level every shift. He brings a strong combination of size, skill, and work ethic, and we believe he’ll be an excellent fit with our group,” added Carter.
The Steelers open the 2026-2027 season in Langley on Saturday, September 19. The team plays their home opener on Sunday, September 20.
